We had a fantastic dinner tonight at Prime. Started with the Tomato stack salad and it was excellent. My son and I had the filet and both were cooked to perfection. For dessert the Milky Way cheesecake was soooo good. Our server was excellent and really made our dinner better.

Omg... The best steak I've had in a long time, and I'm from NY.. Amazing escargot, and huge shrimp cocktail to start. Perfect bone in rib eye, complemented by perfectly cooked hash browns and creamed spinach. The service was exceptional, we had Paulina as our waitress. Ended by a classic key lime pie.. It's a shame not many know what a gem this restaurant is, it's hidden in the Conch Harbor Marina on Caroline Street. Don't miss this amazing dining experience...

At first i was a bit apprehensive , after all walking a NY/Nj girl through a wRehouse is a bit SVU . But once we reached the mezzanine plaza we were amazed! From the front entrance this place is a class act! The server was sweet and attentive. The menu was creative and extensive ! Portions HUGE! I would set this steakhouse tight alongside Ruths Chris or Mortons and have no doubt it would hold it's own! I highly recommend trying it at least once !

If you're in Key West and want to eat a good steak for dinner- that's definitely the place. Small steakhouse with cozy booths. It was too cold inside because of their air conditioner when we came, but after the first glass of red it became warmer a little bit. The butter that came with fresh bread was unusually sweet. For the starters- oysters Rockefeller are really delicious. They didn't give us the small oyster forks for them, but that's ok. Carpaccio of filet mignon is another good option or Escargot. As for the meat itself: my minimum Filet Mignon of 10oz with blue cheese crust was superb, really impeccably prepared, soft, super tender and just right. I would argue about the red wine demi-glaze sauce, cause it felt a little bit like some mushroom to me. They also have New York strip, Porterhouse, Bone in rib eye, surf and turf, veal chop, pork chop, chicken, etc. It's all your choice. Lobster tails, snapper and catch of the day for the seafood lovers. Daily pasta selection. As for sides: creamed garlic spinach was remarkable. They recommend a lot their signature truffled macaroni and smoked gouda, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, potato variations and more. Typical for Florida and Steakhouses Key lime pie for desert or a cheesecake. The wine list looks pretty boring and standard, like if the wines were purchased at a nearby supermarket, even such bottles as Insignia and Opus One are presented only with the latest release, which by the way should be kept for a few years and not open. Like they don't have their own cellar and they restock from the local wholesaler. The service was on the goody level, nice and very precise. As for the parking- there is a garage or street parking, both you should pay for, even on Sunday.

Be aware of photo bomber! I would expect it from an Apple Bee's or Burger King's staff, but not from the staff of such a pricey place!!!! My fiance took me there this Valentines day. Everything went smooth until we asked the front lady to take a picture of us. She did but her coworker photo bombed our picture through the front door porthole. For some people this is funny, but for us this was a special occasion that we wanted to cherish and now our one memory is this picture with the face of some stranger in the back, very creepy. Too bad that such action completely changed my opinion about the restaurant. Just be aware. I will try to upload her face here.

Fantastic all around. Went with my DW and we each had steaks (filet mignon & filet mignon w lobster tail). Cooked to perfection. Drinks from the bar were fabulous as well. Our server, Gregory, made the evening fun for us. Everyone was so pleasant. It's in a great location. We walked the waterfront back to Duval street then visiting two places Gregory recommended for us. It is expensive but they deliver. One thing I noticed & appreciated was the service was very prompt. I always feel like when I go to a steakhouse it turns into a 2 hour meal. Not here and I liked that (though I'm sure you could take it slow if you wanted to, we weren't rushed one bit). This is a must if you are looking for great steaks and a great dining experience.

Absolutely wonderful in every way. Great wines, steaks and incredible sides. Love it. One of the best steaks in the keys.

Not an inexpensive restaurant, but, if you are having a special event or are looking for an outstanding gastronomical experience, this place is for you. Steaks were outstanding which you would expect from a top tier eatery such as the Prime. Try the Mac and Cheese. This one of the best I have ever enjoyed. Made with truffle oil and 3 types of cheeses, it is to die for. This establishment us a breakaway from the standard bar scene in Key West. You would expect this level of service and food in a major city.

After a long day out and about in the Key West sun we decided on having a nice steak and wine meal in the evening. Prime Steakhouse is away from Duval Street, next to the Conch Harbor Marina above Dante's Bar. The ambiance of the restaurant is the typical steakhouse however the patrons are dressed down in casual clothing-- I must confess we were one of those patrons as well who showed up in shorts which is acceptable. We made our way to one of the private rooms for two for an intimate dining experience. Our view was the main dining room which was nice, it made us feel very special. The service staff was very friendly, extremely attentive to our needs. The complimentary bread was warm and delicious. We ordered 10oz filets which were cooked to perfection. The cut was very tender and literally melted in my mouth however they could improve on flavor abit. For the side, we ordered asparagus which was fresh and tasty. The Jordan Cabernet perfectly complimented the steaks. It's a good choice if you are looking for steak in a town filled with plenty of seafood options.

Good, but not $300 for 4 good. The staff was nice, very good service. The pork chop was huge. Good sauce. The green beans with teriyaki were done correctly, nice snap to the beans. We had just been to Kinzie Steakhouse in Chicago, so this one suffered by comparison. But then its Key West, why did we go to a steakhouse???

Food was okay if pricey... and you'll be lucky if you can hear yourselves talk at your table with the other patrons screaming at each other... the management had to be asked to do something about it.

Not great food or ambiance. Expected better and had higher expectations based on other reviews. Best part of the dining experience was our server. If you're going to spend the money there are much better options on the island with better food and atmosphere - skip this place.

Excellent food and service. Portions large enough for two and sharing encouraged. We started with a dozen oysters each. Very fresh and horseradish kept separate from tomato based sauce so you could mix to taste. Followed with one of is having veal chop and the other staying vegetarian with Caesar salad and truffle fries. Both excellent. Desert was a shared Lava chocolate/strawberry concoction that was over the top. All in all a great meal.

I am a bit confused by the low reviews for this restaurant. We spend a lot of time in Key West and I can't believe we've never eaten here. Since it was my birthday our friends made us a reservation, we were sat without a problem, 10 of us at that and I don't remember seeing any "young flirty" hostess or servers. Everyone seemed extremely professional. Having a large group who enjoys good food and drinks the server did a great job accommodating everyone. I personally ordered the French onion soup, mozzarella "stack" salad & the oyster special. All three were spot on. Probably some of the best oysters I've ever had in Key West. My fiancé ordered the tuna appetizer and it was also very good. I was able to taste the she crab soup, amazing!! And also some of the steak which was also ordered at the table. I honestly don't have one negative comment to make about this place. Our group was extremely rowdy and we were able to have an amazing experience here. I can't wait to come back!

I would never go back. I live here, the food is over priced. They don't ask how you want your steak done, and they serve the same bread as "Conch Republic". I asked for asparagus and I get string beans, the portions are big enough for"Adam Rich" on food network. The mac and cheese is the same as Ina Gardner, except for the truffle oli on top! No view and you have to pay to park. I honestly recommend "The Commodore". Never had a bad meal there and they honor parking.

My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely perfect meal here. Great service, great ambiance. We arrived for a late dinner so we were almost the only people in the dining room. Our filets were prepared flawlessly. It's pricey, but we felt it was a great value for the quality of the food. If you're looking to treat yourself while on the island Prime is a great way to go.

Steaks cooked perfectly. I had filet, husband had rib eye. Seared scallop appetizer delicious. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Wines generously poured. Pricey but best steak in Key West.

It was one of those days when I just needed a good steak. Now what constitutes a good steak can be a matter of opinion. What cut...prime or choice. I opted for a 10 oz.filet cooked medium. While waiting I ordered a ceasar salad. The salad was pretty average...nothing exceptional for eight dollars, but the bread that came with it was very good and crusty. I thought that thirty nine dollars for just meat was pricey, and although Morton's and Ruth Chris can get away with it 951 could not. Sides were another six dollars. The steak was medium well not medium. It was still good...prime, but not great and not worth thirty nine dollars. I had key lime pie for desert....average and another six dollars. The ambience is understated upscale...not bad...not quite steakhouse plush either. The total with a 20% tip was was over seventy dollars for one person. The overall dining experience did not leave me with that warm and fuzzy feeling that one gets when spending that much for what should be an outstanding meal. This was a good meal one cut above Outback...overpriced by a substantial amount for the quality and service offered.

This is a nice place, but not at the same level as new York or Chicago. Servers need more training. Wine list, like all of Key West is sorely lacking, especially by the glass. The steaks were excellent and cooked as ordered. I'd go back.

Great steak. Cooked to perfection. Seasoned perfectly. The service was good and we got some great "heavy" pours on our glasses of wine. It's a little off the beaten path too so you get out of the touristy area.

I used to really like this place, but on one visit, one of the owners treated us like we were second class citizens. I haven't been back... I vote with my money, and after spending several hundreds of dollars here, there are too many other restaurants on the "rock" that treat you better than that individual treated us. If you've eaten there, you know who I'm talking about.

The good -- meat was good and well prepared (rare was rare). They came with roasted garlic and a delicious au jus. And the tuna tataki is probably the best I've ever had. Service was attentive. The bad -- sides (asparagus and creamed spinach) were so-so. The shrimp cocktail was overcooked. Dining room was loud and the ambiance nothing special. We won't be back -- too many other great places to eat in KW.

Let me preface this by saying that it was New Years Eve and we had reservations for 9 p.m. We didn't get seated until 10 p.m., which was extremely frustrating. We complained a few times and the manager went out of her way to try to make it up to us... she bought us a appetizers and a round of drinks. Thankfully, the food was phenomenal. literally one of the best steaks our entire table has ever had (and we've eaten at plenty of steakhouses all over the country). So, I can't give it 5 stars because of the wait, but the food alone would make it a 5 star restaurant.

I went here by myself because my boyfriend wanted to go to a friends house barbecue instead. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND rather eat burgers from a grill than an amazing filet mignon from this place?? A nutty person! Anyway, So I'm on vacation in Key West and I search for top steak houses in the island. I come upon this place. I go and the hostess is very nice. The restaurant isn't very crowded for 8pm on a sunday. The hostess offered me the romantic table off by itself in a corner and I said No, I didn't want to be isolated from the main room. So I get to choose my table. Even though I was alone I didn't feel awkward at all. I was facing everyone in the dining room and they were all just going about their business while i sat there and people watched. I ordered the Crab cake, Conch Soup, filet mignon steak, and the chocolate lava cake for dessert. OH and I can't forget the delicious chocolate martini! Everything I ordered was DIVINE! I was a little surprised by the conch soup though. The day before I went to a wedding that served Conch Soup but it was new england style. The one I received was tomatoey. It wasn't what I had in mind, I didn't know there was two different kinds of soups but I ate it anyway and it was delicious. The servers were very nice and attentive. Maybe they gave me extra attention because i was alone? Who knows. Anyway, At the end of my meal I asked the waitress if I can catch a cab outside and she actually offered to call me one. That's going the extra mile! Is this place romantic? I guess it is romantic for Key West. Key west is a very laid back place and to me (a new york city gal) a romantic restaurant involves dim lighting, dressing up in your best garb, and a fat bill in the end. But, this restaurant is pretty laid back, the lighting is set to medium, people are dressed in casual clothes, and I didn't really feel a romantic vibe. The place was full of couples but I didn't feel left out, like i HAD TO BE a couple in this restaurant. I had a good time and meal in this restaurant alone. But, if you get to go as a couple then good for you! I'd go back if i ever end up in Key West again. But, I don't think i'll ever go to Key West ever again. (not my kind of place) NOW GO!

Steak was perfect. It had a nice crust on the outside, and tender on the inside. Service was great. Vegetables could use more seasoning in my opinion. Overall a great experience.
